Theodore Kocher (1841-1917) was Professor of Surgery at Berne University. He won the Nobel prize in 1909 for improving the surgical techniques used during thyroidectomy.
Kocher's incision is used for access to the gall-bladder.
Kocher's mask was used for open drop chloroform and ether.
Kocher's manoeuvre is used to reduce a dislocated shoulder
